Does inherent beauty exist? Hume would say it doesn’t: “Beauty is no quality in things themselves: It exists merely in the mind which contemplates them; and each mind perceives a different beauty.” I do agree that people perceive beauty differently, but is there a universal beauty? Is there an object or a force that contains within it an inherent beauty?
